Depressed Medication

Question:

I have come to a point after 5 years of battling W/C that I am willing to except basically any amount settlement just to get the monkey off my back! My wife and I decided that SSD for me and the kids was twelve hundred a month and getting on her insurance plan through her work to cover my medical needs would be much easier than putting up with the BS, So I have come to terms that 70,000. may not be a lot considering I have another good thirty years ahead of myself but it will be the release of tension and depression that W/C has caused and their stupid participating Frickin Doctors! It’s funny every referral I was wrote that doctor was never on the list!? well I out witted them once, I called ahead of time before submitting the referral and the doctors office assured me that they except Protegrity W/C insurance! but when they sent me the list his name was not on the list? go frickin figure that out? they are down right dirty basterds that don’t give a fluck about you or your kids and wife, they are heartless and after anything against you! they have made me sound like a drug addicts! I have been at the same dose of oxycontin for 3 years never asking for higher dose because that dose was sufficient for my pain, but now that I refused to settle at my last mediation and it’s going to court now they threatened they would go after my Psychiatrist who is now prescribing my pain medication until I am referred to a doctor that does narcotic pain management like my older doctor referred on the script! (NEEDS NARCOTIC PAIN MANAGEMENT!) but they send me to Doctor electrode man! every thing he offers in his pain management yellow page add has already been tried on me without good results! So instead of playing this fricken game I called my attorney and proposed to him that I would settle at 80,000. any lower then I will wait for court since SSD and my records are in my favor, so they can pay the thousand a month just for medications a month for the next 30-40 years! Libertarians expect you to act like an adult.

   Hey Doug, I’m in Canada and WC is much the same.  I had to look at it like a job and I now consider it "Sport" to with them.  At times it has gotten me into trouble but they forget that I can devote 10 times the effort screwing with them.  Their main complaint to me is that they are over worked.   May I suggest getting a copy of the "Act" or bible they use and find inconsistancies in the system.  They’ll tell you each case is different and must be dealt with individually but use blanket policy to screw you over.  Document everything and bury them in paperwork.  They will soon learn your not a complacent citizen and you won’t stop.  If it’s to difficult for you to deal with them I can understand that too.  Winning small victories over WC has given me some of the lost dignity and self worth they try and strip from you.  I broke three lamina(sp) and granaided three disc’s so it was hard for them to deny me.  Two back surgeries and numerous other procedures is hard to deny also. So I was lucky in a twisted kind of way. Find out exactly what your rights are and ask to be treated with respect and make sure all contact with them is done in writing.  This has been my experience and so far it’s working for me.    Have you heard the latest claim?  Some guy in Canada proved to WC that shift work had made him to tired to be productive and he was awarded a compensatable claim for being tired!$%#  This in itself cheapens all legitimate claims and was a big mistake.  This will increase all comp. premiums and may have a devastating effect on an already troubled economy.    The point being, don’t give up because they count on a sizeable percentage of the population to do just that.  When being tired is compensatable, anything is possible. Thanks Robin, It is very tiring for me and mentally it has made me more disabled than I was physically! with only them to blame, they know I fought against going to a second depo, now they are requesting me another depo with my pain doctor that let my medication run out before refilling them, I threatened his own narcotic pain management agreement! So if he decides to side with W/C and act like nothing is wrong with me I will bring up the time I requested him to recommend me a lift chair to help me get up after sitting for a prolonged period, he said lets make W/C pay for a infusion pump and wrote it on my paper work, the copied files I got from this doctor was missing that information and the previous year when I requested to come off 100mg. of MSContin 3 times a day to 40 mg. of OxyContin which I have been on now for almost 3 years! So it doesn’t show addiction tendencies, but it’s funny all those records have disappeared? anyway my wife always drives me and is with me every medical visit not only as my witness but to help me remember questions and act as my power of attorney! there mad because I wouldn’t settle for there 22,000. price? It was like a stupid auction, my medication alone is 16,000.00 a year! not counting any special procedures or doctor appts. thanks for sharing your experience with these basterd hoodlums! prayers, Doug — Democrats want to be your mommy and wipe your butt and make sure you eat your vegetables.
